Monster
It has been an exciting few months over here at Juice, to say the least—We teamed up with renowned director Hirokazu Kore-eda to provide VFX and post-production services for the upcoming film “Monster” (Kaibutsu), which has been officially selected to compete at the 76th Cannes International Film Festival from May 16 to May 27, 2023.
Michał Dwojak-Hara, managing director of our Tokyo outpost said, “Juice is honored to collaborate with Kore-eda, a tender observer of Japanese modernity and one of the best portraitists of family life. We are thrilled to be a part of this project as a main VFX studio, and cannot wait to see what the future holds for this exceptional filmmaker.”
“Monster” (co-financed and produced by AOI Pro.) explores the aftermath of a violent incident that occurs at a school in a suburban town. With world-class music composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto and an all-star cast, including Sakura Ando and Eita Nagayama, this film is sure to captivate audiences.
This marks the seventh time that a Kore-eda film has been selected for the Cannes International Film Festival, following the critically acclaimed “Broker” and “Shoplifters.” We are excited to see “Monster” on such a prestigious platform and congratulate Kore-eda on his continued success.
